At The Palapa School we believe that English is one of the most important fields for your child to develop during their time with us. We understand that every student has a different level of English proficiency, which is why we offer a placement test for first-year students before the start of the school year. The placement test consists of an exam and an interview, and based on the results, students will be assigned to one of four levels managed by our school: A1, A2, B1, and ELA.
At A1 level, your child will be able to hold simple conversations and interact with the language in elementary contexts. For A2 level, students can maintain simple and direct interactions on matters familiar, routine or frequent to them. They can also describe basic characteristics of elements in their environment and issues in areas of prevailing need.
If your child is assigned to B1 level, they will identify the most important elements of regular and familiar contexts to them. They will be able to produce simple texts and describe experiences briefly. They will also be exposed to concrete and abstract texts, spontaneous interactions with native speakers, and successful productions of varied topics.
For the most advanced level, ELA, which stands for English Language Arts, is designed for native or highly proficient English learners. This level deeply develops reading, writing, and communication skills, just like the subject of Spanish in Spanish-speaking countries.
We want to ensure that your child is placed in the appropriate level to enhance their English language learning experience.
